TIL (6)

Things I learned so far (6th)

TIL: Social Media
1.     Think before you click.
2.     Everything is public. Beware on who to talk to or not to.
3.     Do not be dumb. Have respect for yourself.
4.     Posting cleavage, legs, abs, biceps and captioning quotes with hash tags is not cute, it looks “I need attention please”.
5.     Same pose is acceptable maybe until 3; more than that is just boring and nobody cares.
6.     Do not think like a celebrity; think of it as talking to your friends.
7.     Having many followers in any social media doesn’t make you a God just like little of it does not make you a loser.
8.     Do not believe anything you see or read. Most pictures and articles are made with filters and made with ridiculous titles and filled with tons of commercials.
9.     If you want to waste time, stay in social media for hours. Not only you did not learn anything, but you also feel useless for the day.
10. Media has a powerful effect on community. Do not be stupid enough to believe every single thing.

TIL: Public Transportation
1.     Jeepneys are cool except when it’s your first time, you’ll feel like a sardine.
2.     Do not flaunt your jewelries at any transportation. Be smart.
3.     Knowing where to ask of what to do and where to go is necessary.
4.     I like the transportation in Singapore. With its small country, most of the places can be reached by just riding the bus. And getting lost is impossible as long as you know how to read and speak.
5.     Switching the driving lanes like Japan and other countries is confusing. Do not drive unless you live in there.
6.     Do not trust anyone that helps you but be respectful.
7.     Men do not need to offer their seats to ladies except for the sick and old people. Ladies please do not expect and do not be a bitch if you’re standing. Equality.
8.     Do not drink then travel. At least know when you’re sober enough. It’ll get you far. Believe me, I’ve been there. Puked at a bus past midnight and pass my stop (experience, done).
9.     Read before you explore. Know what to do next and what you’re looking for when out of the country. Use common sense.

TIL: Gaming
1.     I don’t know any online games.
2.     I tried once: counterstrike, left for dead, dota, I think that’s it. It was fun but I’m not into it.
3.     It can be addicting to many people, but its not all bad.
4.     Some turn it into bets and win money. It looks bad. But if it helps a family in need, than who are you o judge.
5.     I’d rather be addicted to games than drugs and other horrible stuff.
6.     Socialization, Language and techniques can be learned here. I know there’s more but I have no idea what else.
7.     Have sportsmanship. Accept your defeat.
8.     Trash talking is childish, but I guess necessary for players.
9.     I don’t believe in gender gaming. Male or female, you’re a gamer, period.
10. I love racing! Crash team racing, yeah for kids, but I’ll kick your ass in that game. Finish Asphalt 6: Adrenaline 100%; doing Asphalt 8: Airborne.

TIL: Long Distance Relationship
1.     Hard as hell.
2.     Patience is a virtue. Patience will be tested a million times.
3.     It can be done.
4.     Do not let your paranoia eat you. Hope for the best and wait.
5.     Get yourself busy. In no time, your partner will have signal again.
6.     Connection is the key. Well at least the stepping table for your communications.
7.     Fight the demons. Control temptations and learn how to avoid it.
8.     Loving can hurt, but don’t forget you can also hurt others especially your partner. Know when to apologize. Reflect on the argument and see the other’s perspective. Understand where it’s coming from and say sorry when needed.
9.     Most of the time, fighting will be massive not because of the argument itself but because you miss each other. Breathe and give each other time to think instead of screaming non-stop. Compromise.

10. Take million pictures when together. Cuddle as much as you can and remember your kiss and hug. Wait for him to come home.

TIL (5)

Things I learned so far (5th)

TIL: Food
1.     Every bite you have is a blessing. If that offends you, then you deserve it.
2.     If you live your whole life having more than what you can eat, please savor it.
3.     Be grateful.
4.     Culture makes an effect what we’ll like and disgusting for us.
5.     Breakfast is important. If you feel sick eating it, I pity you. It makes a difference the whole day when your day starts right and with a great meal.
6.     Control yourself.
7.     Limit meals except when exhausted.
8.     Reward yourself with something new.
9.     Do not force yourself into anything; you can go to new restaurants and order same meals then compare.
10. Eating alone is free yet sad.
11. Eating with someone makes it a happy meal no matter what you’re eating.

TIL: Clubbing
1.     Once in a while is acceptable. Like every 2 months maybe?
2.     Every 2 weeks is crazy. Waste of effort, money and honey, too much alcohol.
3.     After examination is the best reason to party.
4.     Please dance, do not be a killjoy when going out.
5.     No mater how bad you are at dancing, it will be fun.
6.     Pee as much as you can when drinking. But in the bathroom only.
7.     Talk as much as you can when drinking. It helps sober you up.
8.     Learn from previous mistakes. When humiliated, control yourself to not over do it again.
9.     Make up for ladies are nit mandatory yet showing skin. All about attitude.
10. Confidence is the key for men. Too much is a douche. Too less is a chicken.

TIL: Reading
1.     I do not like reading.
2.     Yet it lets you travel time, and see images in your mind.
3.     For educational purposes, reading will make you smarter.
4.     Understanding it makes you the best you can be. Do not be afraid to ask what does it mean or get a dictionary.
5.     Fictional books are amazing and authors are bizarre too think of what happens next.
6.     Bad news, nowadays: stories have same plot. Futuristic heroin that discovers the bad of society’s power.
7.     If you are an avid reader, saying this will be my last chapter for now is not true all the time.
8.     Do not judge someone when reading whatever they’re writing. Every story has a different background just like every language cannot be always translated.

TIL: Technology
1.     In a few days, 2015 will be here. Everything can be sent in a push of a button.
2.     Everything has its disadvantages.
3.     It makes life easier yet made people lazier.
4.     Do not let it get the best of you.
5.     It was only made to help human, not replace and make them feel unimportant.
6.     Do not be ignorant. Learn what to do and what not before experimenting and testing.
7.     Do not be so confident, stupidity can be easily obtained.
8.     CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH LONG DISTANCE PROBLEM is just the best about technology.
9.     We got to go to outer space, how cool is that.
10. Do not be fooled by marketing and low prices. Remember what you need in a device not what they tell that you want. Quality over low prices and quantity.
11. Too much going on a one device is impressive yet faster to break.

TIL: Malls
1.     Know when it closes and where to go outside = where to park. Believe me, it’s all connected. You don’t want to walk all around outside the mall in freezing cold just cause its closed and he doors you went into is also closed.
2.     Customer service depends what mall you’re into. When it’s high class, all are good. If it’s not yet managers are great, still nice. If not, get outta there.
3.     Public restrooms are public. Do not expect it to be extravagant.
4.     Tables and chairs are full of germs but you are all people so don’t be so choosy. We’ve all been there. Sit and rest when tired.
5.     Knowing where to look for sale and clearances is a gift and can be learned. DO not be embarrassed about these things.
6.     I’d rather boast cheap yet awesome clothes with good quality rather that high brands with extremely over the roof prices.
7.     Do not leave your belongings.
8.     Do not feel safe at any times. Learn to be aware when someone is following you, etc.
9.     Have fun, roam around and enjoy. Walk = it’s an exercise.

TIL: Cinemas
1.     PLEASE BE QUIET.
2.     Respect everyone and shush. Speak in your softest voice.
3.     Keep comments to yourself or at least beside you.
4.     If getting bored, leave QUIETLY. Do not stump like you’re a giant.
5.     Leaving is disrespectful enough; try to not say a word after completely out of the cinema.
6.     Before watching a film, know that it will be horrible or not. You can tell if its action, for kinds, musical, action, fictional, etc.
7.     Don’t be dumb expecting exciting things knowing that it’s from Disney and it’s a musical.
8.     Appreciate the talent. You might not like the boring stuff yet talents and skills of every person and actors of that particular movie are beyond.

9.     You might not like that genre, value the effort and abilities of any film. Except when it really is just a one take useless directing trash.

TIL (4)

Things I learned so far (4th)

TIL: Airport, Airlines and Airplanes
1.     If you are flying international, please be at the airport at least 3 hours before departure time.
2.     Lines depend on where country you are in. In the Philippines, please be there 4 hours before departure time.
3.     People working depend on where you are again. Some airports that have long lines work faster than short lines that have slow-motion workers.
4.     Take care of your belongings; if it gets lost, it is your fault and only your fault.
5.     No matter where you are, especially in Philippines, always have someone to watch your things.
6.     If possible, have luggage than you can carry. Try to minimize making the helpers carry it all for you.
7.     Minimize your luggage before traveling. Be aware and always remember where you put documents and important stuff. It’s easier if you know where every single thing you need and saves time if it is easy to get.
8.     Not all Airlines are the same. Some vary prices, others quality, etc.
9.     Delayed flights are asshole. But there’s nothing you can do about it.
10. A good airline always announces or update passengers the latest.
11. If the airline is offering food in the plane, do not complain since it’s there.
12. Be nice to flight attendants. They are the ones taking care of you.
13. Follow rules and instructions at all times in airport and in airplane.
14. KNOW what NOT to bring in your hand carry and the LIMIT of some products in your check in baggage.
15. Bring extra cash all the time.
16. Know what to read and where to look. Use common sense.
17. Yet, do not be so obvious when getting lost or having a problem. Some places that are no safe can detect people who are easy to be fooled.
18. Put a lock or two in your luggage.
19. Do not be mad if you something was broken like a glass inside when you get it after the flight.
20. No matter what your religion is, or if you are an atheist, wish a safe flight at all times.

TIL: Christmas
1.     It really is a wonderful time of the year.
2.     Family makes the Christmas complete.
3.     Friends are also great companions, but there are other times for that.
4.     Prices of gifts are not necessary; it’s the thought that counts.
5.     Do NOT pick your favorite gift while all of the people who gave you are still in the room.
6.     Do NOT be rude at this time of the year.
7.     CONTROL yourself and have help if you cannot do it yourself when it comes to drinking. Remember: Children are present.
8.     Santa is always there, just believe. If you can’t then do not ruin it for others, PLEASE.
9.     Getting a Christmas tree is optional but it really does make a difference with the ambiance in the house.
10. Christmas starts within you. Spread it. Have fun and be grateful.

TIL: New Year
1.     New Year means another beginning.
2.     New Year doesn’t mean reset.
3.     Fireworks are beautiful.
4.     People who want to be quiet on New Years Eve are KJ.
5.     Others do not know kissing on New Years Eve.
6.     New Year’s Resolutions do not come true most of the time. If it does, good for you.
7.     Do NOT go to the GYM on the first week of January, you’ll look pathetic.
8.     If you wanted to start being fit, do it sooner; No need for New Year.
9.     Be careful when doing crackers. It’s fun, but can be dangerous.

TIL: Life
1.     Everything happens for a reason.
2.     Everything should be balance.
3.     Parents and relatives make an affect on what you decide about career and family.
4.     Friends are not always there. Yet you still need each other.
5.     Illnesses are bullshit. Keep fighting brother.
6.     Wishing someone luck is nice, wishing them nothing is just plain inhuman.
7.     Do not forget money is just a thing.
8.     Do not believe in what you see, mind works in horrible ways.
9.     Always ask for an explanation.
10. Respect everyone at all times.
11. Know what you love to do, if not, find it.
12. Find your inner joy, happiness can’t be found it just happens.

TIL: Love
1.     Make time to let your partner know, they are important.
2.     Give each other space. Explore your own world.
3.     Do not be too busy all the time. Priorities are significant; choose what’s more essential.
4.     You cannot force love, just like you cannot take it out.
5.     Give it time to heal. Grieve, be angry, and let it all out. But only life/love moves forward.
6.     Getting back together does not mean making the same mistakes and miserable all over again. It takes two to tango. It’s either better or worse.
7.     Grow up for your own sake and for others. Maturity does not come with age.
8.     When arguing, try to see your partner’s perspective. Breathe and take a break so you two can think then talk, not fight.
9.     Appreciate every little second of the time they are giving to you. Those times in their lives can’t be take back yet they gave it to you.
10.  See the bright side in every situation; yet do not lie if there is none.
11. Just don’t lie. Honesty is key. Trust is the lock.
12. If it feels like responsibility, there’s no passion. Wake up and face reality.
13. Give your heart fully; it’s up to you if you can balance taking care of your partner and yourself.
14. Advices are just guidelines and their perspectives. Sometimes they’re helpful and sometimes they’re not. Decide and don’t blame others if it goes bad since you chose to follow them.

15. Realize that you have faults too. Seeing through pride is a big step.
